Becoming a Better Homeowner…is an ongoing process…

Too many of my clients have put every penny they had in to buying their home…that they either couldn’t, or just haven’t taken the overall maintenance of their investment, very serious.

Just like planning and saving for Retirement it is necessary to plan and save for the maintenance of your home.

Some of it, is simple and CHEAP!  Like just keeping note (somewhere you will actually look)  🙂

To change the filters for your furnace/intake, and to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide meters…do this every 6 months.  I write the date on the filters themselves, and just know-I changed the Batts. in my detectors at the same time…

It isn’t all about Maintenance either, it is about protecting your investment by just having a fire extinguisher close by, maybe in a kitchen cabinet-by the stovetop.  OR installing a whole house alarm, that will end up saving you money on your insurance bill…likely as much as 25% of your annual bill.

Then there is the Energy bill…so many ways to save there.  I would be honored to help you with that.  Just changing out your light bulbs, or weather-stripping your doors and windows-caulking the holes/gaps around your pipes under your sinks or at the top of your water heater,  if it is inside your home…or seal and insulate the wall around electrical outlets…you would be surprised how much you will save every month.

ASK ME for my Preferred Provider list-so you know you are getting quality work on your household projects, that you just can’t do yourself, or don’t have the time for.

Most of my clients give me the “deer in the headlights” look when I ask them when the last time was they looked at the Dec. page of their Insurance policy-have you updated/remodeled your home? added a room or a pool? or something else-and didn’t update your policy? You get my drift.

I just took a bunch of photos-of each and every room in my home-even opened up the drawers and photographed everything in them..and kept everything on a memory stick in my safe-for if a disaster hits…will certainly make it much easier to fill out a “home Inventory” report when my insurance company asks me what my losses were, so I can be compensated for it all…I’ve been there before, lost almost everything…this is why I share this with you…NOT EASY TO REMEMBER ALL YOU HAD, ONCE IT IS ALL GONE…make it easy on yourself.  In fact, call your insurance company today, and ask them for a “home inventory” list-or just make one up-go room by room and just simply list everything in that room-and estimate the value of those items.  You will be glad you did.

I have much more to share.  This is just one of the many services you can expect to receive, working with my team.  We mean it, when we say “we are Full Service Realtors!”
